The BeatsbyDre company has a nice succes story with a happy ending for Dr.Dre himself.
Started in 2008 with expensive headphones for studio use, but seeing how Dre got some big names wearing it on the streets suddenly everybody wanted one and it became a status product. Between 2010 en 2012 the worth of Beats Electronic quintupled to 1 billion dollars. Later on they created the music platform BeatsMusic that works like Spotify and might also be a motivation for the take over that is happening. Now, 6 years later, Apple offered Beats by Dre 3,2 billion dollars making Dr.Dre the Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artist. Forbes just released their 2014 ranking but it might need an update…
